Episode 80: Home, Sweet Home

Local experts estimate there are about 280 students in the Canby School District who are homeless or housing insecure. We don't see them because, fortunately, they're not out on the streets (usually). But they are in less-than-ideal situations that can severely impact their success in school and life in general. Second Home, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, has found that something as simple as a stable housing situation can almost double an unaccompanied student's chances of graduating high school. This program is now in Canby for the first time, and our guests today are eager to tell us all about it.
